In the true spirit of ‘network of networks’, PIC organised the first ever film festival on Buddhism in association with NFAI (National Film Archive of India), BORI (Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute) and NETPAC. The festival was inaugurated by the noted actor Mr. Kabir Bedi.
The festival was graced by the presences of Mr. Suresh Jindal, Producer and Chairman, Devki Foundation and Dr. Aruna Vasudev, Founder and Director, NETPAC.
It was attended by a jam packed audience for all the 10 films screened at the festival that focused on the life, times and principles of the Buddha. Along with the films, an exhibition of ancient Buddhist texts was held by BORI.
Following the festival, a panel discussion was organized at Symbiosis International University, institutional member of PIC, on ‘Relevance of Buddhism in Today’s World’. This was chaired by Mr. Bedi and moderated by Dr. Dileep Padgaonkar, Chairperson, and Program Committee.
