About Prof. Ashutosh Varshney
Prof. Varshney is the Sol Goldman Professor of International Studies and the Social Sciences and Professor of Political Science at Brown University. He previously taught at Harvard University (1989-98) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2001-2008). His books include Battles Half Won: India’s Improbable Democracy (2013), Collective Violence in Indonesia (2009), and Ethnic Conflict and Civic Life: Hindus and Muslims in India (Yale, 2002). His research has received the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Carnegie Fellowship, the Gregory Luebbert Prize, and the Daniel Lerner Prize.
About Prof. Suhas Palshikar
Former Professor of Political Science at Savitribai Phule Pune University till 2016. He is the Chief Editor of the journal Studies in Indian Politics and Co-Director of Lokniti, and served as Chief Advisor, Political Science, for NCERT. He specializes in the political process in India, politics of Maharashtra, and political sociology of democracy.
