The objectives for which the Centre is formed are :-

1. Research:
   To promote public policy research and advocacy.
2. Provide a platform for discussion:
   To create a platform for open discussion and for stimulating debates by mobilizing the intellectual resources with which the City of Pune is so richly endowed.
3. Build future leadership which will help eradication of poverty in future:
   To promote activities and programmes with strong emphasis on involvement of youth so as to help build future leadership and to inspire a new generation to create positive social change based on the eternal human values enshrined in the UN Charter and the  Indian Constitution which will further help in eradicating poverty amongst society by providing better ideas and opportunities which will also enable quality amongst people at large.
4. Educate:
   To undertake, organize and facilitate study Courses, Conferences, Seminars, Lectures in matters relating to the all round socio-economic and cultural development of the City of Pune in particular, and the nation in general.
5. Publication:
   To undertake, facilitate and provide for the publication of newsletters, research papers and books and of a journal for the exposition of emerging cultural and socio-economic patterns and values.
6. Libraries:
   To establish and maintain libraries and information services to facilitate the spread of new information and knowledge and also the study of world cultures and socio-economic conditions.
7. To provide sustainable solutions through Policy Research and the support of social projects that facilitate employment generation.
8. To promote and uphold the social causes of –
   a) Public health and Health care (including preventive health) and sanitation.
   b) making available safe drinking water
   c) education, including special & vocational education.
   d ) gender equality and empowering women,
   e) environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agroforestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water,
   f) protection of national heritage, art and culture including restoration of buildings and sites of historical importance and works of art; setting up public libraries; promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts.
9. Scholarships and Awards:
   To offer prizes and to grant scholarships where possible in furtherance of the objectives of the Centre.
10. To provide a forum for the promotion of all arts including visual, performing and design arts and also literature.
11. To do or get done, all such other lawful things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above aims and objectives.
