Air Marshall Bhushan Gokhale (retd.) VSM AVSM PVSM

Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1968 in the fighter stream, Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale has flown over 3,500 hours on a variety of combat and trainer aircraft. He has seen active operations during the 1971 India-Pakistan hostilities.

As Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Operations, Air Marshal Gokhale played an important role in the planning and execution of air operations, including during Operation Parakram. He was Vice Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters. After retirement, Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale is appointed as Consultant to the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and Consultant to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He is a member of the Union Public Service Commission. He has also worked as a nominated Member on the Boards of two Defense PSUs, namely Bharat Electronics Ltd and Bharat Dynamics Ltd. He is an alumnus of the Air War College, USA and a Fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India.
