Prof. Gurudas Nulkar is Professor and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. His research focuses on sustainable development and alternative economic models for sustainable development. His research interests range from challenges to sustainable development (urban and rural), bioeconomy, renewable energy, aquatic ecosystems, especially urban rivers, ecological restoration, alternative economic models for sustainable development, and green economy and green businesses. He was the Endeavour Fellow of the Government of Australia and has received the Maharashtra State Literature awards for two of his books on these subjects.
Prof. Nulkar has published five books, several research papers, monographs and articles. He is on the board of the Ecological Society, Pune, and is a Senior Fellow at the Pune International Centre.
