Pune International Centre (PIC) is an independent, multi-faceted policy research think tank seeking to foster the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and the UN Charter. It works in the areas of National Security; Energy, Environment and Climate Change; Social Innovation; Science, Technology, Innovation and National Growth; Economic Reforms; and Urbanisation.

  • PIC aims to establish a world-class think tank; provide a forum for liberal intellectuals; promote an environment for free and fair public debates; and facilitate a platform to promote the arts and culture.
  • The Centre lays emphasis on working with the younger generation to promote innovative, inclusive and progressive thinking in all fields of public life.
  • Renowned scientist Dr. RA Mashelkar, FRS is the President of PIC and senior economist and former bureaucrat Dr Vijay Kelkar is the Vice President.
