Budget 2025: A Mixed Bag

At Pune International Centre, we closely followed today’s budget announcement, with our team keenly participating. The budget was largely on expected lines, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, MSMEs, rural development, exports, and finance.

Sharing the comments from our Director, Maj.Gen Nitin Gadkari:

“The government has provided funds for combating the growing menace of urbanization, which is a welcome change. Custom duty reliefs in life-saving drugs is a good step. The fiscal deficit continues to hover around 4.8%, which is high. The biggest surprise came in the end when the FM announced total income tax exemption for regular salaried middle-class people, with the usual vote-catching rhetoric, up to a limit of ₹12 lakh per year. This announcement will eclipse any other in the budget and hog all prime time on news channels. Alas, the defence did not find a mention again in the budget this year.”
